As much of a cliche as it is, life is short and you only get one, so make the most of it. I want to document how we make the most of it. The downfall to documenting so much, is the slight disconnect and not being in the photos. I never felt this way until I became a mom. One thing I did not expect, was how much this made me appreciate my profession even more. I still document everything we do, that will never change, it’s who I am. I’m the mom with 14k pictures on her phone, a lot of them so similar but the slight difference adds a different emotion to the picture, so I keep them all.
One of my favorite things about my daughter is how much she loves to look at pictures of herself. We look back at our pictures now more than ever. Because of this, I realized how many pictures I am out of. This normally isn’t something I am aware of since I still captured the moment, who cares if I am in it or not. But now, I realize how valuable pictures are for the generations to come. Down the road when I am not longer with her, I want her to have as many pictures of the whole family as possible.
These pictures I will cherish forever. It is so important to us to get pictures taken regularly, I love seeing the growth of my family throughout the years.
Our first family photos were in the middle of summer and we made it a day trip (2.5 hours there and 2.5 hours back). It was so hot that we ended up not enjoying downtown Holland like we planned. We have developed a relationship with HZ Photography and she will forever be our family photographer. After our first family photo experience of making it just a day trip to the west side of the state, we decided to improve the experience. We plan our family photos around a time we can make a family trip out of it. This year we planning another summer trip, but we will be playing on the beach. Making it a fun event helps to insure my daughter will be happy for the photoshoot and we will get lots of smiles.
This has helped my business grow immensely. Every family session is so important to me. Being able to capture a special moment for you and your loved ones, is truly an honor! I love knowing these pictures will be cherished by loved ones for years to come.
I hope we get to work together!
